Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method 10839NAT is a nationally accredited, Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 6 Qualification, the equivalent of an Associate’s Degree with a recognised health industry outcome of Pilates Practitioner. This course builds on skills and knowledge gained in the 10838NAT Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction. Pilates ITC is an AUSactive and Pilates Association Australia-approved education provider. All Courses and Pathways have CECs and PDPs compatible with international and national registration bodies. It follows on from The Diploma and explores applying the Method to work for complex conditions, at-risk clients, rehab applications and elite-level conditioning. The Advanced Diploma curriculum honours the Pilates Method as taught by Joseph Pilates and is strategically informed by modern health and evidence-based movement science, anatomy and physiology to create a comprehensive and balanced learning experience. Advanced Repertoire.

Learn how to apply Pilates repertoire for late-Intermediate through to Advanced in Matwork, Reformer and Studio (private, duet and semi-private) settings using the full complement of Pilates apparatus.

  • Advanced Reformer Repertoire and Programming: The Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System (Studio/Reformer).
  • Advanced Matwork Repertoire and Programming: The Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System.
  • Advanced Small Apparatus Repertoire and Programming: Fitball, Magic Circle (Pilates Circle), Weights and Poles, and Theraband and using the Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System.
  • Advanced Studio Repertoire and Programming : Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Barrels, Reformer, Ped-a-Pul.

Gain skills in Pilates specific, high-level applications for a selection of low to moderate risk clients and special conditions:

  • Rehabilitation protocols and clinical Studio exercise prescription and programming for IC, Private, Duet and Semi-Private: The Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System (Studio).
  • Low to moderate level musculoskeletal injuries and conditions involving the joints and soft tissue.

The self-directed learning component (Coursework) is 100% online via the LMS, and the practical learning is delivered in private, Course Delivery sessions with Senior Educators: in-Studio or online.

Practical Learning. (In-Studio and or Online)

Get into the nuts and bolts of the Coursework, learn the repertoire and hone your advanced teaching craft with private tuition under Senior Educators (Pilates Practitioners). These sessions can be conducted in the Studio, online, or a combination.

This mentor-forward, private delivery structure injects a heightened level of convenience and personal attention into these sessions, and allows Students to customise an approach specific to their needs, interests and knowledge gaps. It's highly personalised, super flexible-learning.

Online. Work through the Learning Management System (LMS) modules at your own pace. The LMS guides the learner journey using an immersive combination of written resources, video demonstrations, interactive apps, and activities. Learning tasks and written assessments are intuitively timed in the course flow to consolidate and evidence your progress in each subject area. The total average study load for the Advanced Diploma is: 10 hours per week.
