The Professional Reformer, Matwork and Small Apparatus Instruction Pathway is drawn from the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10838NAT) which is a nationally accredited, Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 qualification with a professional and internationally recognised outcome. An accredited qualification has quality assurance and is yours for life. This Pathway is recognised and preferred by employers at home (Australia) and abroad.

Pilates ITC is an AUSactive and Pilates Association Australia-approved education provider. All Courses and Pathways have CECs and PDPs compatible with international and national registration bodies.

What You'll Learn

Our Pathway curriculum is drawn from the 10838NAT Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction, and honours the Pilates Method as taught by Joseph Pilates. It is strategically informed by modern health and evidence-based movement science, anatomy and physiology to create a comprehensive and balanced learning experience.

  • Pilates Method Fundamentals: history, principles, anatomy and physiology, and biomechanics.
  • Reformer Repertoire (56 exercises).
  • Reformer Programming for group class: The Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System (Studio/Reformer).
  • Matwork Repertoire. (51 exercises)
  • Matwork Programming for group class: The Pilates International Categorisation™ (PIC) System.
  • Small Apparatus Repertoire (52 exercises): Fitball, Magic Circle (Pilates Circle), Weights and Poles, and Theraband.
  • Teaching Communications.
  • Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).

How You’ll Learn it

Pilates ITC's "blended" study mode combines self-directed, online study with in-Studio, practical learning to create high quality learning and professional outcomes.

In-Studio.

Get into the nuts and bolts of the Coursework, the theory, learn the repertoire and hone your teaching craft under the direction of your Educators in the Studio.

Online.

Work through your Learning Management System (LMS) modules: course content and online resources at your own pace. The LMS guides the learner journey with a combination of activities, interactive apps, and video demonstration so you can immerse yourself in the Method. Online quizzes, programming and other written assessment tasks are intuitively timed to consolidate and evidence your progress in each subject area.

  The total average study load for the Professional Matwork, Reformer and Small Apparatus Instruction Pathway is: 10 hours per week.
