Presenter Helen New

Helen New holds the Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method (91490NSW) and specialises in the management of Scoliosis. As well as delivering Workshops for Pilates Instructors, she educates dancers on injury prevention and delivers rehabilitative programs after injury. After suffering an injury herself in her early twenties, Helen discovered Pilates. Despite being told she would never dance again, Pilates was able to help mend her body and enabled her to dance professionally for another two decades. Her interest in Scoliosis developed after discovering her stepdaughter had developed a severe curve at age 11. At this time, Helen spent a great deal of time researching Scoliosis to help her stepdaughter avoid surgery. She has written and presented her own Scoliosis Workshop “Curvy Bodies” across Australia, leading her to be invited to represent Scolio-Pilates® in Australia by its founder Karena Thek.
