What the 2022 Federal Budget “Boost” Means for Pilates Training

30/03/2022

The 2022 Federal Budget, announced on 29 March, brought with it a welcome incentive for Australian small to medium sized business to invest in training and upskilling staff.

The “Skills and Training Boost” equates to 20% of eligible expenses, meaning if a small business spends $100 on training employees they will get a $120 tax deduction, according to Frydenberg.

This includes investing in education offerings provided by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) like Pilates ITC and Pilates ITC Online*.

But what does that mean for you? How does that affect Pilates Instructor Training?

This “boost” applies to Pilates ITC accredited blended-delivery Courses and Pilates ITC Online accredited digital Courses.

The real winners here are employers in the health, fitness and wellness sectors!

Pilates Studios, Yoga Studios, Gyms, Fitness operations, Physios, Chiropractors.

This tax relief measure is designed to support employers, but the flow on will benefit individuals currently employed in health or fitness operations. If upskilling (adding Pilates to your mix) or upgrading your existing Pilates qualification is something you want to do, it is worth discussing this with your employer.

Let's break it down.

Under this arrangement small to medium fitness or health business stand to benefit from putting staff through an accredited Pilates Instructor Course. (For your reference, our RTO number is: 52583.)

This applies to all Pilates ITC blended-delivery Courses and Pathways.

We’ve done the math for you below using the Diploma qualification as an example:

Enrol one staff member in the 10838NAT Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction for $11,455.

The small business employer will receive a $13,746 tax deduction.

This also applies to all Pilates ITC Online accredited Courses and Pathways.

The 100% online training mode may be a preferrable option for some businesses and their staff.

Here’s some more number crunching:

Enrol one staff member in the Online 10838NAT Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction for $7,420.

The small business employer will receive a $8,904 tax deduction.

How can individuals take advantage of this change?
